£88 – Provides a community health worker for a month
Children and their family in rural China living significantly under the poverty threshold the children are not having their basic health needs met and we have community health workers travel to schools in these rural areas to give the children soap, a brush, a toothbrush and toothpaste to each child and explain the importance of personal health.
Each child is taught about the importance of washing their hands which will prevent much of the chronic gastrointestinal illness that runs child to child in schools. The teaching of tooth brushing will prevent the early lose of teeth and gum disease that many of these children will suffer in early adulthood.
